General Questions
What types of plumbing services do you offer?
We handle most residential and small commercial plumbing, including leak repairs, toilets and faucets, water heater repair and replacement, bathroom and kitchen remodel plumbing, and dental/medical office plumbing. If you’re not sure whether your project fits, just ask—we’re happy to point you in the right direction.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Venne Plumbing is fully licensed, bonded, and insured in the state of Oregon. We pull permits when required and complete work to current plumbing code.
What is “Plumbing Happiness”?
Plumbing Happiness is our promise that the entire experience—from the first call to the final cleanup— feels easy, respectful, and professional. Our family taking care of your family means clean work, clear communication, and plumbing that’s done right the first time.
Who will be coming to my home?
Our team is made up of licensed plumbers and trained apprentices who live and work in the Sherwood area. You might see Ryan or his daughter Emma, our journeyman plumbers Peter or Garson, or our apprentices Zach or Brad working under their supervision. Whoever comes to your home will arrive in a Venne Plumbing vehicle, introduce themselves, listen to your concerns, and explain the plan before any work begins.
Do you offer drain cleaning or rooter services?
We are not a drain cleaning or 24/7 rooter company. Our focus is on plumbing repairs, fixture replacements, water heaters, remodel plumbing, and small commercial/dental office work. For major main-line backups or extensive drain cleaning, we’re happy to recommend a dedicated drain cleaning company and point you in the right direction.
Scheduling & Service Area
What areas do you serve?
We’re based in Sherwood and proudly serve the Portland metro area, including Sherwood, Tualatin, Tigard, Newberg, Wilsonville, Beaverton, and nearby communities. If you’re just outside that area, contact us and we’ll let you know if we can help.
Do you offer same-day or emergency service?
We’re not a 24/7 emergency or rooter company, but we can sometimes offer same-day service if our schedule allows, especially for urgent issues like leaks or no hot water. Call our office and we’ll let you know the soonest we can get a plumber out to you and help you prioritize next steps.
How do I schedule an appointment?
You can request an appointment online using our contact form or call our office during business hours. Tell us what’s going on, and we’ll match you with the right plumber and time frame for your job.
Pricing & Estimates
How do you charge for plumbing work?
For most jobs, we’ll look at the work, explain your options, and give you a clear price before we start whenever possible. Smaller jobs are usually quoted as one straightforward price for the work, so you know what to expect. For larger projects like remodels, we provide a detailed written estimate that outlines the scope of work and pricing. If anything unexpected comes up, we’ll talk it through with you and get your approval before moving forward.
Do you offer free estimates?
We can often give a ballpark estimate over the phone or by email with photos. For more complex jobs, we may schedule an on-site consultation so we can give an accurate quote based on your specific home and plumbing system.
Do you mark up materials?
Yes. Like most professional contractors, we apply a reasonable markup to materials to cover sourcing, handling, warranty support, and trips to the supplier. This also means if there’s a problem with a product we supply, you call us—not the manufacturer—and we help take care of it.
Fixtures & Materials
Can you install fixtures I purchased myself?
Yes, we can install customer-supplied fixtures from places like Home Depot, Costco, or Amazon. However, because we didn’t source the product, our warranty covers only our workmanship—not the fixture itself. If a customer-supplied faucet or toilet is defective, we may need to bill additional time to remove and replace it.
Do you recommend specific brands?
Yes. We work with professional-grade brands that hold up over time—especially for toilets, faucets, and water heaters. If you’d like help choosing fixtures, we’re happy to recommend options that fit your style, budget, and water quality.
Can you help me choose fixtures for a remodel?
Absolutely. We regularly help homeowners and contractors select toilets, faucets, tubs, and valves that work well together and meet code. Share your ideas or inspiration photos and we’ll help you choose plumbing products that perform as good as they look.
Water Heaters
Do you repair water heaters or only replace them?
We do both. In many cases, we can extend the life of your existing water heater with repairs or maintenance. When replacement makes more sense, we’ll explain your options and help you choose the right tank or tankless model for your home.
Should I choose a tankless or a standard tank water heater?
It depends on your home, hot water usage, gas line, venting, and budget. Tankless systems can provide endless hot water and save space, while tank-style heaters are often simpler and more budget-friendly. We’ll review your situation and recommend the best fit.
How long does a typical water heater last?
Most standard tank water heaters last around 8–12 years, depending on water quality and maintenance. If your heater is older, leaking, or not keeping up, it may be time to plan for replacement before it fails unexpectedly.
Warranty & Guarantees
What kind of warranty do you offer on your work?
We stand behind our workmanship with a written labor warranty (details may vary by project). Manufacturer warranties on fixtures and water heaters are separate and depend on the product you choose. When we supply the materials, we can assist you with warranty issues if something fails.
Are your plumbers background-checked and trained?
Yes. Our team includes licensed journeyman plumbers and apprentices working under their supervision. We invest in ongoing training so our plumbers stay current on code, products, and best practices, and we send people into your home that we’d trust in our own.
What can I expect when your plumber comes to my home?
You’ll receive a confirmation for your appointment window. Your plumber will arrive in a company vehicle, introduce themselves, listen to your concerns, and review the options before starting work. We protect your home, clean up the work area, and go over what was done before we leave so you know exactly what was fixed.
